The school football team is a group of talented footballers. Pupils are screened to ascertain their talents before they are drafted into the team. They meet every fortnight to practice at the football park. Pupils who are not very skilled but show much interest in the sport are given special training to improve their skills.

Competitive football match is organized between the school football team and team from other schools. The teaching staff also plays the skilled football team every term. Mayflower Alumni are sometimes invited to play for the school team when they play the teachers.
